Owen Maughan (b.2004) is a Canadian composer and classically trained saxophonist living in Parry Sound Muskoka, Ontario. Holding a BMus degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, he is now continuing to study privately and build his career.
Owen has a passion for programmatic music and has written works for a wide variety of ensembles including wind orchestra, big band, a variety of chamber ensembles, and solo works. His music has been performed by the Laurier Wind Orchestra, the Penderecki String Quartet, a sax trio from the Parry Sound High School, and many peers from his time at WLU.
Owen loves composing for a variety of genres and while being mostly experienced with concert music, he is branching out to write for film and games as well.
